Lois Hazel: LW Scrunch Skirt
Scrunch features an incredibly special print by my wonderful friend Lee-Anne Williams.
Lee-Anne Williams is a proud Bunuba / Wankatjunka woman, who lives in the Kimberleys. I met her through the Design Within Country Project that has allowed me the amazing opportunity to work up in the Kimberley's with a group of local artists, and Lee-Anne was one of them. Her artistic background is both Desert and Riverside from both her grandmother's. The print used is of the dry river beds, like cracks in dry mud, after a big flood. She loves painting because to her, it takes her mind off everything bad or negative that is happening around her, it's like therapy.
This print is featured on three different styles, the Straight Pant, Scrunch Trench and Scrunch Skirt. Printed on a Hemp / Tencel base by Fozia Akalo at Frankie and Swiss, each piece comes in a matching draw string bag with a free scrunchie made out of the scraps.
The Scrunch skirt is your festive skirt this season. A fitted waist that drops down into a full bottom finished with a full gather, including two rear pockets. Think Carmen Miranda, but Australiana.
